Window Cleaning Basic Equipment

Hello this part of the blog will help with the tools that actually clean the glass.

Did you know that Award WIndow Cleaning Services  travels? Thats Right! We travel to the Lake Shore, Battle Creek, Mount Pleasant,

Always feel free to check out our Services at www.awardwindow.com

Stripwasher/Window Mop

Below is a picture of a strip washer. They come in many different sizes, colors, with a scrub pad on the end, with a scrub pad on back, and even one made of steel wool for the badly stained window.  At Award Window Cleaning Services, the 18 inch stripwasher/ window mop is the most commonly used. However, I would recommend for first timers & home owners to start with a 12" strip washer, depending on the sizes of your windows.

Squeegee

Below is a picture of a typical squeegee. Please do not mistake a gas station type squeegee for something you may want to use at home. Most gas station type squeegees cost as much as you would spend for a good one, however when the squeegee rubbers is bad you throw it away. The squeegee below has a replacable rubber that also can be flipped over and has two edges to be used. I always suggest to purchase a few squeegee rubber replacements and put them in a place that you will remember where they are. One squeegee rubber can last a long time for a home owner only cleaning their windows a few times per year.

Squeegee Complete

This squeegee is a inexpensive brand and there are many kinds and sizes to choose from. If taken care of, the squeegee and stripwasher can last for many years.

I clean my windows at home with just these two basic tools. I wet the strip washer, dab a bit of dish soap on the strip washer. When inside i squeeze the strip washer until it stops dripping, grab a towel and i am on my way.
There is nothing that brings the outside in like that of a pristine clear window.

Soon to come I will be making video to show how to use these tools. There are also many videos on U-tube
you could search for.
