IWCA and OSHA Team Up
Hello & Welcome Back
While reading The Professional Window Cleaner, a magazine put out by the IWCA , I came across an article titled OSHA and IWCA Team Up to Increase Workplace Safety. As always, safety is a main concern of mine, so this article was one that I felt I needed and wanted to read. So here is the info, passed from me to you.
*The alliance was formed to provide IWCA members and others with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to slip, trip and fall, and fall from heights hazards.
*It will also address issues related to the proper, safe use of high-reach access equipment including ladders and scaffolding equipment along with addressing the safety and health challenges of small business owners and low literacy and limited English speaking workers in the window cleaning industry.
*OSHA and the IWCA will work together to provide expertise to develop training and education programs for window cleaning contractors and workers.
*They will provide expertise in developing information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards.
*OSHA and IWCA will work together to encourage IWCA member's participation in OSHA 's cooperative programs.
You can find The Professional Window Cleaner on the IWCA website, www.iwca.org .
